lLatest News!

20th January 2010

Is it 2010 already? Hard to imagine...but it's starting to feel like it could be a good year already. I hope to bring you news of a live show or two in the next few weeks, so watch this space.

As you'll have noticed, I've now signed up to iLike - instead of Reverbnation, which I soon found contained all manner of tools which were irrelevant to me and therefore tired of quickly! Come find me on iLike instead and click the button! And yes, just to confirm, I am no longer on Reverbnation...

It's been a while, but as we draw close to the end of 2009 I wanted to say a huge thank you to all you good people who have continued to keep in touch and write messages of support over these last few months, even though I've been quiet. There has been plenty going on behind the scenes, and before too long I will bring you some really concrete news about the next album. In the meantime though, you may like to know that I finally bit the bullet and set up a Facebook profile, so I'd love to see you there if you'd like to look me up. You'll also find me on Reverbnation, as well as MySpace which of course I've been on for a while already.

All that said, I wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas, and raise a glass to you for what I hope will be a wonderful 2010. Warmest wishes to you all - k

I'm still here! Thanks to all of you good folks who continue to write to me over on MySpace; the chat is good and keeps me in touch with real things while I'm so deeply immersed in my own little creative world. Writing continues unabated, it feels good but there is still some way to go before recording can begin. So for now, the best thing I can tell you is to assume that no news is good news for a while longer... Take care for now - k

Writing is going well, and you can hear the first of the NEW music now on my player on the Extras page. More information about the piece there...don't forget you can join my mailing list to be kept up to date with everything current! k x

Just over a week ago I was fortunate enough to persuade Andrew Marshall into the studio to record some vocals for my new project. This is the first time I've ventured down the collaborative route, but am really excited about the outcome! You'll have to wait a little longer before you can hear the fruits of our labours, however I would encourage you towards Andrew's MySpace page to find out more about him and listen to his music. The more observant among you will notice that he says he's based in Hobart and Melbourne, Australia. I'm not sure my persuasive powers would have been sufficient for him to have flown into the UK specially to record with me (!)...he has been living in Exeter for these last two years but is heading back to his native Australia this week. I was extremely glad to have caught him before he went, but hopefully this is not the end. Thanks to the joy of technology there is talk of more collaboration across cyberspace so watch this space! k x

PS did you notice that there is now a link to my blog? Find it at the bottom left of this window...

The latest news on Pathos and Exaltation (Part 2) can now be found on my MySpace blog. There's a lengthy explanation there of why you haven't seen this work yet - and also some additional news about a new project I started writing in December (and am increasingly excited about!).

Should I be writing that kind of detail here on my website too? Or are you happy to link out to the blog from here? Let me know if you have any strong views on that - you don't have to have a MySpace account to view my blog so I tend to think that I'll keep the news here concise whilst pouring my heart out over there :) k x
