Thanks to Kev Hutchings for inviting me onto his show, where we chatted about writing, Pathos and Exaltation (Parts 1 and 2) and my new project. If you listen hard in the second part of the interview you can hear one of my new solo piano pieces, called Prologue.

Summertime
I've read that there are more than 4000 covers of 'Summertime'. Little wonder when you hear the song - I remember crooning to this with friends when I was in my teens, and - although covers are not really my thing - decided to arrange it myself in 2007 as a bribe to persuade a good friend that he really did want to come to my show...fortunately, after hearing it, he agreed that the trip out had been worth the effort! This remains one of my all-time favourite songs to sing, and so I'd like to think Mr. Gershwin would say I'd made a worthy job of it. This is a one-take "live" recording, just piano and vocal..one day maybe I'll add more, but for now I like the starkness of this one. I hope you do too..
